Religion

Religion encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and religious experience. Religion is an organised approach to human spirituality which usually encompasses a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices that give meaning to the practitioner's experiences of life through reference to a higher power. “Religion” refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction.

Using such knowledge it is sometimes possible to predict certain types of outcome.The methods of scientific research include the generation of hypotheses about how phenomena work, and experimentation that tests these hypotheses under controlled conditions. Scientists are expected to publish their information so other scientists can do similar experiments to double-check their conclusions.
